I Peter 4:18-19, New International Version

18 And,

“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved,
what will become of the ungodly and the sinner?”

19 So then, those who suffer according to God's will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.

I Peter 1:6-9, New International Version

6 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that your faith – of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire – may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8 Though you have not seen him, you loved him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe I him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the goal of you faith, the salvation of your souls.

I Peter 3:3-4, New King James Version

3 Do not let your beauty be that outward adorning of arranging the hair, of wearing gold, or of putting on fine apparel;
4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible ornament of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.
